Farmers market on the Carlow campus creates a buzz

The Pittsburgh community welcomes a new farmers market at Carlow University.

When Farm Truck Foods first came to Carlow University on January 20, the food truck business received a warm welcome and set up indoors on the first floor of University Commons.

The mobile grocer offers fresh food sourced primarily from local farms within a 200 mile radius of Pittsburgh. Going forward, Farm Truck Foods will stop weekly at the University’s Commons from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Excitement for the new stop in Oakland extends beyond campus. Pittsburgh Magazine blogged about the new farmers market location, and 90.5 WESA aired the story. Both features are available at the following links:

Farm Truck Foods was founded by Michelle Lagree-Pendel, Meredith Neel-Jurinko, and Landon Depaulo. Lagree-Pendel and Neel-Jurinko are alumni from Carlow’s MBA program. See the press release.
